This is a category that we believe to be extremely important. Not every wrestler can be a state champion or even all state. But every wrestler can improve. This comes only with hard work, dedication, discipline, listening to coaches, showing up, off season work, diet and nutrition, weight training etc. Wrestlers who make gigantic improvements do not get there by accident. They have worked for it! We are not looking at in-season improvement in this list. The following are Prep's most improved wrestlers from the 2023/2024 season to the 2024/2025 campaign.
100
Prep’s Pick for winner of most improved wrestler at 100 is sophomore Tierra Taylor from Gibraltar Carlson.  Taylor was 11-13 in her freshman season but surged to a 24-7 record with a 6th place finish at Ford Field this year. Congrats Tierra on that fantastic improvement!

Anna Williamson, a senior from Mattawan, is our winner for most improved at 110. A year ago she was 13–9 and was not a state qualifier. This year, she finished 28-10 and a 6th place finish at the MHSAA championships. Well done Anna, on that awesome improvement!

Special Mention to Kerrington Fields-McCurdy, a sophomore from Stevenson. She finished 28-11 and made it to the blood round at state after completing a 9-15 campaign a year ago. Outstanding improvement!

Prep’s Pick for the most improved 190 from a year ago is Ember Mariott of the Yale Bulldogs. The senior was 6-5 a year ago and did not make it out of regionals. This year Mariott finished 23-13 and wrestled her way to a 6th place finish at Ford Field. Well done Ember!
235
Our winner for 235 is Mya Brandenburg, a junior from Allen Park. This pick is somewhat unconventional as we could not find any record of Mya wrestling before this year. It appears she played softball (and played extremely well) for the Jaguars but did not wrestle. If that is the case, she posted at 26-2 record this year, all the way to a 5th place finish at State! That is amazing! Congratulations Mya!
Special mention goes to Mila Dubroja, a sophomore for Eaton Rapids. She finished 14-9 a year ago and did not qualify for State. This year, she competed to a 29-14 record and a 6th place finish on the podium at Ford Field. Great work Mila!Â
